For businesses that want to get their videos seen, a YouTube channel is a must – yes have the video on your server if you wish and in as many other appropriate on line platforms as you can muster, but optimise and utilise YouTube for a great return on investment, maybe even look at YouTube Video Advertising which are very reasonably priced at the moment.

Between 14th July and 30th September, Instagram users are being called for by BFI Future Film to contribute their photos and videos that showcase the diversity of people and places in the Britain on Film Instagram competition #BritainOnInstagram focusing on 4 themes; Britain’s Got Flare (LGBT Britain), Arrivals (celebrating Britain’s migrant community), Fiesta (festivals & carnivals) & Action Sports on Location.
Newly accessible film & TV archive show a vibrant, diverse & eccentric Britain, while shining a light on the issues and situations which affect every generation. A lot of these films have never-or rarely- been seen. Since their first appearance; they can now be searched for by UK specific locations using BFI Player’s new ‘Film and TV Map of the UK.’

4K TV is predicted to go mainstream within the next five years therefore more media should be produced for the 4K TVs. But what about people who do not want or cannot afford a 4K TV? Will they be left in the past, unable to watch any new films or television? Will this be another 3D debacle? Quite likely, well at least for some time in the future and certainly for business purposes we need to look for the most common receiving format and facility, so lower common denominator rules – which is still the internet for now! HD video on the interview is gaining some segment but the majority is lower resolution or standard resolution so although we can edit in 4K for corporate video we don’t see it being a big area for production in the near future.

In 2019, according to a recent Cisco Study, every second almost 1 million minutes worth of video will cross IP networks. It would take 5 million years for 1 person to watch the amount of video content that will cross the network in 1 month in 2019. For the industry, this statistic is mind-blowing. The demands on infrastructure capable of delivering the content to users are going to get more urgent as the internet gets bigger.
